When you walk into Breeden’s store, we think the first thing you will notice is the wood work that was done, transforming a pole barn into something so much more. The materials used are primarily repurposed from the house on the property or a 1920s Amish hay barn that we purchased. The walls and floors from the house were removed piece by piece by hand and then used to make some of the artwork you see in the store. The shelves in the store are stocked with our very own Breeden’s Orchard preserves and sauces. Our recipes which are prepared and packaged right here in Nashville.

From North Castle Heights Avenue, and to the east, this asphalt paved greenway trail is located on both sides of the Sinking Creek. The trail goes over a new steel/concrete pedestrian bridge that parallels Baddour Parkway, which connects to the north side of the creek. The pedestrian bridge was constructed in the early summer of 2009.The north section goes from Baddour Parkway, at the new pedestrian bridge, to North Castle Heights Avenue. After you pass the Floyd Center on the north section, you go under North Castle Heights Avenue, then up and over the bridge. As you cross the bridge, pedestrian traffic is protected by a 4 foot concrete barrier wall. When you descend on the south side of the creek, and on the west side of Castle heights Avenue, you can either go west to the Don Fox Park, or go east towards the aforementioned pedestrian bridge. On the south side of the trail, you can pass the ascending trail that goes up and over the creek, go under it and Baddour Parkway, then to the end of the trail at the Music City Star commuter train station. As per Lebanon Parks and Recreation rules, the greenway, with the exception of the trail within the park, is closed at dusk.

In 2005, Scott and Rebecca Paschal had the opportunity to purchase the remaining 100 acres of Scott's family farm. The Paschals had farmed this portion of land for decades and lived in the Brush Creek community for seven generations. In 2006, Scott and his father, Tom planted several acres of grapes with plans to become commercial wine grape growers. However with a change in Tennessee state law, it became apparent that eventually the farm needed to develop into a farm winery. With lots of work from their three sons, Scott and Rebecca began to build the infrastructure needed to start a small farm winery. In 2015, on Easter Saturday, Scott, Rebecca and their family opened Cellar 53 Winery to the public. A majority of the wines produced use Tennessee grown fruit with the majority being grown on the eight acres of grape and blackberry vineyards. Come visit! Thursday through Sunday - Noon to 6 pm. Also, the winery is available for small private tastings. Just give us a call! Currently, the winery does not rent out event space for weddings or any other private event or party.

Sellars Farm is a Mississippian Period town site near Lebanon, Tennessee. It's a state archaeological area and is managed by Long Hunter State Park. It's open from 8:00 am to sunset every day. Sellars Farm is open to the public for self-guided walking tours, and park rangers from Long Hunter occasionally give guided tours. The walking distance on the trail is approximately 1.4 miles over fairly level ground. Most of the length of the trail is under trees or has intermittent shade. About .5 miles is completely exposed to the sun during warm months when the trees are filled out; that exposure would increase a bit in the late fall and winter after the trees lose their leaves. Clean portable restrooms are located near the beginning of the trail. An informational kiosk, designed by Dan Webber, at the entrance to Sellars Farm gives an excellent illustrated overview of the Mississippian Culture Period and the Sellars Farm site. Tour brochures are available at the kiosk that include a map and guide to the site, with numbered points corresponding to markers along the trail that explain the site's features. Visitors interested mainly in hiking or experiencing nature should enjoy the walking trail. The trail is kept mowed down, but the rest of the area is left natural. In the spring and summer the ancient man-made earthworks are hard to see under the heavy foliage, even the large platform mound, but the plants and flowers are in full view.

Who is Lee Marshall of Silver Ridge Pottery? Lee grew up in Louisville KY, went to Sacred Heart Academy and worked at Bremner Bisquit Co. while getting an AS in mechanical engineering. She later obtained a BS in engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School in Chicago. She spent 30 years in "Corporate" as an engineer and executive in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. During this time she discovered pottery making. She made so much pottery she didn’t know what to do with it, so she did her first art fair. When someone gave her money for pots she couldn’t give away to friends and family, it opened her eyes to many possibilities. In the 90’s, Lee realized that she could leave corporate America behind and devote her time to her passion of making pots. So she spent 2 years searching for property, designing the house and studio, and using her engineering skills to manage the building project. Twenty one years ago, Lee established Silver Ridge Pottery on a 10-acre mountainside just off Chicken Road in the small community of Pulltight, Tennessee, about an hour east of Nashville. She now produces porcelain vessels which can be seen at galleries, gift shops and art fairs all over the United States. My studio is open most days & twice a year I have an Open House at the studio, where i show off new work. To stay up to date on happenings at the studio send me an email at lmarsh@aol.com and i will add you to my email list.
